Saturday morning 17th February 2018 at 9:30 AM the UK Shaolin Temple opened its doors to the public for this year’s Chinese New Years‘ celebrations.

Both, in and outside, the temple was decorated with red ribbons, laterns, red envelopes and good luck signs to bring happiness, wealth and prosperity in the year of the dog.

People arrived from near and far to see some traditional Lion Dance and a short, but very impressive Shaolin Kung Fu Display of animal forms, weapons forms, Tai Chi and Qi Gong.

Among the spectators, the UK Shaolin Temple hosted some famous guests and long time supporters of the UK Shaolin Temple. This was also a good time to catch up with everyone in person and update everyone on upcoming projects and campaigns, that we are really excited about.

The year of the dog will be a very successful year for everyone and we are looking forward to get involved in a lot of new activities. Our main focus this year will be on the UK Shaolin Temple Campaign, the Team Training, Great Skill Sports and the Tea Club. If you like to know more about these activities or want to get involved, please come and speak to one of us.

As always, we would like to give a huge Thank You to all of our supporters, performers, organisers and volunteers, who made this event a great success again. We were especially impressed by the cleaning up crew, who did a fantastic job on getting rid of all the rubbish, cleaning the floors and made the temple look like new, ready for the next Training session.
